6 month photos are in!!!

Here are a few of my favorites.  It was SOOOOOOOO hot the evening we got these photos taken.  My hair had no other choice than to be pulled back.  I suggest scheduling an indoor photo shoot for anyone thinking of getting shots done in the middle of July!  What was I thinking???  Oh, well!  Max managed to look sweet anyway!

I guess blogging is not my forte'...

Sorry it has been a month already.  Here are some pictures!  I might blog more often if I could find a quicker way to upload my photos.

Family Visit

Matt, Dad, and Terry were all able to come for a visit.  It was great to see everyone!  Katie and Jarek both took extra time off of work so we were all able to spend lots of time together.  It was so great to have so many fun things to do.  We ate lots of food and went lots of places!  Max was such a good boy the whole time.  He just napped wherever we were, laughed and played with everyone, and made us all happy.

On Sunday we went berry picking at a farm in Noblesville.  Here are some photos to tell the story of part of one of our fabulous days.

First Cereal Attempt

We decided to start Max on some rice cereal the other evening.  It was more for practice than anything else.  It went remarkably well for the first go.  He was much less interested on the second night!  I think we can wait before going crazy with the feedings.  Nursing is so much more relaxing than spoon feeding!  I will try to make some baby food during my 8 week stint as a SAHM.  I hope Max likes veggies better than his father does!

I am not sure who is cuter.  Max looking at daddy or daddy telling Max how yummy cereal is.

Long Weekends

I am loving this 3 day weekend!  Max and I went shopping with Brianna and Lane yesterday at the Edinburg Outlet.  It was so nice to hang out and the weather was perfect for getting out of the house!  The boys ended up being on the same feeding schedule which made it easy on all of us.  Anyway, Max is always happiest right after a feeding.  It was so funny to watch the boys check each other out and try to talk.  Lane was being very chatty with Max.  They were reaching out to touch the other's hand.  They both are just so darn precious.  I wish I would have had a video camera so I could share the moment.

Today Jarek, Max, and I are heading to Anderson to hike at Mounds Park with the Pohls and Garrets.  Then we are going to cookout at Beth and Alan's.  We originally were headed to Brown County, but this 90 degree forecast had us second guessing ourselves.

Tomorrow is a cookout with my family.  I just love being away from the house so I don't feel like I should be cleaning!

I am finally in the countdown week until summer gets here!  4 more days to go and then I can have unlimited baby access.  Thank goodness!  I don't think I could have made it through the last 8 weeks of work without the light of summer at the end of the tunnel.  I am already dreading returning in August.

Now that Max is 4.5 months old...

I will post his 3 month photos!

Happy Mother's Day!

What a fun day!  The weather was beautiful and it was great to spend time with family.  We had a nice brunch with Jarek's family and my family at the The Edgewood.  After that we went to hang out at Nana and Papa's house.  The weather was perfect for hanging out on the back deck.  My brother borrowed my camera and took some of these photos.  I wish I would have remembered to take out the camera at Mike and Paula's house, too!  Thanks to everyone for spoiling me on my first mother's day.

Three Months Old!

I haven't posted in a while.  Going back to work has been keeping me busy.  It has been a fairly smooth transition.  I think it really helps to know that I just have 7 more weeks to go until I get an 8 week break.  I am glad for that!  My students are funny, too.  They ask me every day how Max is doing.  They want to know, "What is he doing right now?" Silly kids...  I hear them explaining to kids in other classes that Max is just his nickname.  His REAL name is Maxwell.  We had a response to literature writing assignment last week.  The kids were supposed to answer a specific question and use evidence from the text to explain their reasoning.  One boy's essay read, "One day my teacher had a baby.  Then we had another teacher for a long time.  Then my teacher came back."  Unfortunately, the story he was supposed to summarize was about a little girl on her first day in a new school.  I guess it is good I am back.

Even though I have been busy, I did remember to take Max's 3 month photo.  Today he will get his 'real' pictures taken.  I already can't wait to see them.  I hope little boy wants to cooperate so we can get some great shots!

He is holding his head up a lot better.  He is really becoming interested in watching his surroundings.  I have noticed him checking other children out in public, the cats, me cooking, etc.  I wonder what he thinks about it all?  We are going to Quinton's birthday tomorrow.  I am interested to see what he does there.  (By the way, I can't believe little Quinton is going to be SIX years old.  That just blows my mind!)

He rolled over the other day for Jarek from tummy to back.  Daddy got very excited!  I saw him do it once, but it was a long time ago.  I am pretty sure it was just reflexive back then.

His hair and his eyelashes have grown a lot.  His eyelashes stick straight out.  There is not a bit of curl to them.  Picture Snuffleupagus...that is what they look like!  I have been watching his fingernails grow also.  His fingernails from when he was born are now completely grown out. Why do I notice these things? Or feel the need to mention it as important growth information?  I guess it is just so amazing.  Every single thing about the last three months has been.
